End with a visit to Vogüé which will surprise you with its medieval fortified castle, on the banks of the river, on a limestone cliff.
Prehistoric sites
Registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Grotte Chauvet 2 is the perfect replica of the Grotte Ornée du Pont de l'Arc. You will see paintings and engravings dating back 36,000 years. It’s a leap in time for sure. Don’t miss the Grand site de l’Aven d’Orgnac, in the heart of the Gorges de l’Ardèche. This remarkable site is made up of a set of stalactites and stalagmites to discover. We would also advise you to take a detour to the Grotte de Forestière and the Grotte de la Madeleine, two exceptional natural sites.
